Position Overview
The VisaNet Platform & Reliability Engineering division is tasked with the software development, platform engineering, and operational support of the world’s largest and most dependable global payment processing engine.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled, proactive, and energetic individual with a passion for technology, ready to tackle challenges and solve problems in the development and support of the VisaNet Integrated Payment System (VIP) within the Platform Engineering sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the z/TPF Operating System.
- Provide online support and take ownership of problem resolution for z/TPF.
- Develop and create systems software, including CP enhancements, TLD, and APAR maintenance on the z/TPF platform to fulfill Visa's business needs.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineers to create efficient z/TPF enhancements and maintenance.
- Manage all incident, change, problem, and emergency documentation for the z/TPF environment.
- Coordinate with Applications and Support Groups to ensure seamless delivery of requirements from a z/TPF perspective across multiple teams.

Additionally, you will:
- Work on integrating emerging technologies into existing systems and document installation, configuration, and operational procedures.
- Lead technical projects, including Proof of Concept evaluations.
- Mentor and support the technical growth of junior staff members.

Work Environment
This is a hybrid role, allowing flexibility between remote and office work. Employees in hybrid positions are expected to work from the office 2-3 designated days per week, depending on business needs.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree, or 2 years of experience with a PhD, or 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.

Other Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in z/TPF Systems programming.
- Expert knowledge of IBM High Level Assembler and proficient in C++ and system build components on the z/TPF platform.
- Strong analytical skills, including dump analysis.
- Familiarity with various z/TPF software and maintenance processes, including LGF, TLD, and OLD loads.
- Expert knowledge of VPARS, z/TPF Toolkit, and testing z/TPF software in a VM environment.
- Sufficient knowledge of Linux to support z/TPF SIP processes.
- Extensive experience across all elements of the software engineering discipline from requirements gathering to implementation.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent assignments with both technical and business personnel.
- Flexible, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a lifelong learner with high work standards, capable of functioning as an individual contributor, mentor, or collaborative team member.

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.
Travel Requirements: This position may require travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This role will be performed in an office setting, requiring the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, and frequently operate standard office equipment.
