Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for leading architectural design and construction projects, overseeing renovation and construction activities, and supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement architectural design and construction plans, including REVIT drawings and cost estimation.
  • Coordinate with agencies and review construction plans submitted by other architects.
  • Supervise staff responsible for design and management of renovation and construction projects.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
  • Prepare reports for project stakeholders, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.
  • Develop and maintain guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Oversee program analyses and prepare management and productivity reports.
  • Manage construction, leasing, space planning, maintenance, operations, repair, renovations, and remodeling of agency facilities.
  • Develop agency space management guidelines and standards.
  • Represent the business function, division, or department at meetings and training activities.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Architecture.
  • Minimum of 5 years full-time experience performing architectural or engineering work, preferably in commercial construction, renovation, or maintenance of buildings.
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time supervisory experience.
  • Registered as an Architect by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners.
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence.

Hand-eye coordination and arm/hand/finger dexterity.

Ability to transfer weights of up to fifty (50) pounds anticipated for this position.

Driving requirements: Moderate (up to 30%).
