Administrative Associate

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Practice Administrative Associate to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient care and support to our physicians and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient appointment schedules, communicating changes to staff and physicians as needed.
- Coordinate the check-in process, verifying patient information and obtaining necessary signatures in accordance with NEMG policies and procedures.
- Answer telephone calls, providing excellent customer service and referring callers to appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Execute pre-authorizations for diagnostic tests and procedures, tracking referrals and maintaining electronic medical records.
- Perform daily activities, including message retrieval, voicemail, and filing, ensuring seamless communication and record-keeping.
- Collect and reconcile co-pay collections, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, contributing to a patient-centered approach to care.
- High School degree or equivalent required.
- 1 year of administrative healthcare experience or 2 years of administrative office experience required.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- EMR experience preferred and working knowledge of Microsoft office applications required.
