Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Electric Boat. As a key member of our Supplier Quality Engineering Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials procured from suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Onboard and manage supplier quality vendors to ensure compliance with our raw material procurement strategy.
- Perform supplier capability assessments, quality management system reviews, process audits, and product inspections to identify areas for improvement.
- Evaluate material defects and quality trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Travel to supplier locations to develop an understanding of their manufacturing and quality practices.
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline.
- Ability to travel extensively, potentially at short notice.
- Ability to hold and maintain a SECRET DoD security clearance.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in Quality Engineering, Systems Engineering, and/or Waterfront Engineering.
- Quality certifications such as LEAN Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), and/or ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM).
- US Military experience.
- Degree in Manufacturing, Structural, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience working with quality requirements, supplier oversight, auditing, and business communication.
- Leadership skills.
- Analytical skills.
- Technical writing skills.
- Business communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize task assignments.
- Adaptable and able to lead and follow.
- Self-starter willing to learn new and unfamiliar areas.
- Meeting facilitation skills.
