Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Electric Boat. As a key member of our Supplier Quality Engineering Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials procured from suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Onboard and manage supplier quality vendors to ensure compliance with our raw material procurement strategy.
  • Perform supplier capability assessments, quality management system reviews, process audits, and product inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate material defects and quality trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Travel to supplier locations to develop an understanding of their manufacturing and quality practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline.
  • Ability to travel extensively, potentially at short notice.
  • Ability to hold and maintain a SECRET DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Quality Engineering, Systems Engineering, and/or Waterfront Engineering.
  • Quality certifications such as LEAN Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), and/or ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM).
  • US Military experience.
  • Degree in Manufacturing, Structural, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience working with quality requirements, supplier oversight, auditing, and business communication.
