Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Editorial Specialist to join our team at IQ Solutions. As an Editorial Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our written content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze requirements to determine the level of effort needed for assigned editing and proofreading tasks.
  • Edit and proofread written text to ensure it is free of errors and meets our high standards.
  • Enhance the quality of content to ensure it resonates with all intended audiences.
  • Coordinate layout and organization of materials and other documents according to prepared outlines and specifications.
  • Detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar, and style, as well as ensure consistency of formatting and other style considerations within documents.
  • Adhere to style guides such as Government Publishing Office and AP style, as well as the specific styles of various clients.
  • Edit material to adhere to federal plain language guidelines.
Requirements
  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in an applicable field of study, such as English or writing, or the equivalent education or experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in editing and proofreading documents related to project assignments.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including flawless English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proficiency in the editorial style of the Government Publishing Office and AP.
  • Knowledge of and experience with federal plain language guidelines and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, most especially Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Proven working experience as a copyeditor or proofreader, and an excellent portfolio of edited products.
  • Exceptional attention to detail along with critical thinking.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, simultaneous assignments and deadlines.

The estimated pay range for this position is: $45,000 in our lowest geographic market to $62,000 in our highest geographic market, annually.
