Position: Zero Trust Communications Specialist

Zermount Inc. is on the lookout for a Zero Trust (ZT) Communications Specialist dedicated to delivering communication support for our federal clientele. This role is integral to the application of ZT principles across various domains, including identity, device, network, application, workload, and data, aiding our client in fulfilling the mandates established by relevant executive orders and federal guidelines.
The ZT Communications Specialist will collaborate with project managers, coordinators, engineers, and senior management, leveraging their communication expertise to facilitate the planning and execution of Information Technology (IT) initiatives. This position involves the development and management of a comprehensive Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) aimed at modernizing and enhancing the client's IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective communication of Zermount's ZT solutions and services to federal clients, aligning with federal objectives.
- Provide essential support and information to project managers for informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with Engineering Leads and Managers to monitor and fulfill client deliverables.
- Report on metrics related to ZT adoption.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement and maintain robust relationships with all involved parties.
- Craft, design, and produce complex publications, employee communications, newsletters, and informational materials for diverse audiences.
- Assist in establishing editorial and departmental standards as necessary.
- Support customer engagements, including performance reviews and debriefs.
- Coordinate the development of project deliverables and outputs.
- Help generate project status reports and track tasks and action items.
- Document and share project lessons learned with stakeholders.
- Prepare presentations tailored for stakeholder audiences.
- Create ZT-focused communications, including bulletins, articles, training materials, and more as directed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in preparing briefs and managing knowledge management platforms (e.g., web pages, SharePoint).
- Ability to analyze and document process enhancements.
- Familiarity with NIST Special Publications and guidelines.
- Understanding of client communication channels and methodologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
- Knowledge of federal directives, including EO 14028 and OMB M 22-09, as well as Zero Trust Architecture and related frameworks.
- Exceptional collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- Skill in navigating complex client environments with professionalism and tact.
- 5+ years of technical writing experience in IT or information security.
- 5+ years of experience in executive communications roles supporting senior leadership.
- Experience in developing talking points and summaries for executive correspondence.
- Proficiency in graphics and design software for professional presentations.
- Experience in creating 508 compliant content.
Education:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), computer science, management, business administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Certifications:
Preferred certifications include:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Security+
Clearance Level:
- Active Secret Clearance is required.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid work model with remote flexibility, requiring occasional onsite presence.
