Job Summary

Los Nietos Middle School is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodial Services Associate to join our facilities team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school grounds and buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and seal floors; vacuum carpet, dust, wash, and polish furniture and woodwork; empty and clean waste receptacles, including trash barrels; clean restrooms, locker rooms, and showers; wash windows and walls; polish metal work and clean chalkboards.
  • Facilities Support: Move and arrange furniture and equipment in preparing multi-purpose rooms or classrooms for special events or meetings; assist in receiving and distributing supplies and equipment.
  • Emergency Response: Perform emergency clean-up service resulting from breakage, vandalism, spilling, and illness.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform minor maintenance tasks in keeping assigned areas safe and operational; may occasionally perform routine ground and building maintenance functions.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of cleaning materials, disinfectants, and equipment used in custodial work; tools and their uses and the ability to use them in minor maintenance work.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions; make minor technical repairs; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Education: High School graduation or equivalent.
