Job Overview

FUNCTION
Nile Sisters Development Initiative (NSDI), a non-profit organization dedicated to community health, is looking for a part-time CNA Instructor for the LearnMore Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP). This role reports to the Registered Nurse Program Director (RNPD) and is responsible for providing orientation and educational training to students, as well as supporting various functions at both the educational institution and designated clinical training locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are not exhaustive and may be adjusted by Leadership to ensure alignment with the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Ensure compliance with CDPH CCR Title 22 regulations.
  • Deliver classroom and clinical instruction based on state-approved curricula.
  • Prepare and present educational materials and clinical training sessions.
  • Assess and identify students' educational needs within the LearnMore framework and assist in addressing these needs.
  • Conduct classroom and clinical activities in accordance with approved LearnMore standards.
  • Exhibit excellence in teaching methodologies, including instructional counseling and academic advising.
  • Maintain accurate student records throughout and following the training period.
  • Collaborate with the RNPD to identify students' educational needs.
  • Complete daily attendance records for both theoretical and clinical training.
  • Administer and evaluate student assessments and quizzes.
  • Identify students whose performance does not meet established standards and report these instances to the RNPD.
  • Ensure students fulfill the requirements of each clinical training site agreement.
  • Monitor student performance and provide direct supervision during clinical training to ensure skill demonstration.
  • Limit other clinical responsibilities while supervising students in training.
  • Evaluate student performance and document grades appropriately.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during training.
  • Inform students about evaluation procedures and course completion criteria.
  • Conduct review sessions to prepare students for state competency evaluations.
  • Deliver courses in alignment with established course designs.
  • Adhere to LearnMore Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide temporary supervision of NATP in the RNPD's short-term absence.
  • Attend clinical training site orientations and act as a liaison between the site and the RNPD.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the RNPD when not engaged in classroom or clinical activities.
  • Engage in other functions and special programs as designated by the RNPD.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a Director of Staff Development (DSD) certificate, meeting CCR Title requirements.
  • Possess a valid and current LVN license.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time nursing experience, including at least one year of direct patient care in a nursing or long-term care facility.
  • Prior teaching experience in a nursing-related discipline.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Approval from CDPH required prior to teaching any NATP class.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND COMPENSATION
  • This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
  • Flexible work settings, including educational institutions, clinical/healthcare environments, and office locations, with the use of electronic equipment.
  • Flexible scheduling, including potential evening and weekend hours as dictated by the school schedule.
  • Visual and auditory abilities sufficient for comprehending written and verbal communication.
  • Physical requirements include prolonged sitting, standing, computer use, walking, bending, lifting up to 20 lbs., and reaching.
