Position Overview:
The Operations Manager at Sawmill Market is tasked with ensuring the seamless operation of restaurant and bar services while fostering a culture of exceptional service among the team.
This role involves supervising restaurant personnel and facilitating customer orders in accordance with company standards and policies.The Operations Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Front of House team to create memorable dining experiences for patrons.
Supervisory Duties:
Hosts, Servers, Bartenders, Bussers, and all staff at Sawmill Market.
Key Responsibilities:
Reports directly to the president of the Heritage Restaurant Group.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with guests, team members, and external partners.
Enhance team morale by being a visible and approachable leader for both guests and staff.
Communicate consistently with property staff regarding job assignments and necessary timelines for effective workflow.
Conduct interviews, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations as needed for staff.
Assign, train, mentor, and guide staff to deliver an exceptional guest experience while fostering an environment where employees feel valued and engaged.
Monitor occupancy and event levels to ensure appropriate staffing of all reporting team members.Establish and maintain vigilant oversight of the property’s financials, continually seeking opportunities to reduce losses and enhance profitability.
Collaborate regularly with the Accounting Department to ensure timely payment for supplies and equipment and accurate ledger entries.Oversee the inventory management system for supplies and equipment, setting reorder levels and maintaining repair records.
Engage with vendors and contractors to explore new products and services available.
Act as Manager on Duty as required.
Ensure compliance with legal, safety, operational, labor, and Heritage brand standards.
Oversee and execute special projects as assigned by the General Manager.
Responsible for front-of-house service across all casual outlets in the market.
Additional duties as assigned that align with the responsibilities of this position.
Requirements:
Current New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit and Food Handler Certification.
3-4 years of experience in hospitality or food and beverage management is required.
A degree in a Hospitality-related field is preferred.
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Physical ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds and lift/carry large items.
Capacity to work in a restaurant environment with crowds, noise, odors, wet floors, varying temperatures, and lighting.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting for extended periods, including walking and standing.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
