Job Summary:

As a proactive organization, BCNY adheres to health and safety regulations to safeguard our community. The Culinary Station Supervisor will report directly to the Sous Chef, assisting in meal preparation and service. This role is essential in maintaining a smooth food service operation for campers and staff. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for culinary arts, experience in a professional kitchen, and a commitment to creating a welcoming dining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sous Chef in preparing and serving all meals.
  • Help maintain an accurate inventory of food and related supplies.
  • Support food stations in delivering high-quality culinary products, including setup and cleanup.
  • Keep records of meals served, including portion sizes and leftovers.
  • Ensure food safety by monitoring temperatures of all food items.
  • Uphold sanitation and maintenance standards for the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Engage with campers and staff in a friendly manner, accommodating dietary needs.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive dining atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification required or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to pass a background check and physical examination.
  • Proof of required immunizations and health examination.
  • Valid Food Handlers Certification required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with youth and in camp settings preferred.
  • Desire to work outdoors with children in various conditions.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English or Mandarin/English preferred.
  • Experience in large group feeding operations.
  • Ability to prepare meals according to dietary restrictions.
  • At least 1 year of relevant food service experience.
