This position is responsible for facilitating decision-making and analysis of all types of credit information to support lending decisions and processes. Maintains and promotes a client service environment to satisfy and exceed member needs and expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Manages and services a portfolio of existing commercial loan relationships.
- Underwrites, analyzes, and prepares credit memos.
- Develops credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates risks of new or existing business.
- Ensures financial statements are spread and analyzed, addressing industry risks, monitoring collateral requirements, loan structuring and pricing, credit analysis, monitoring credit performance, and assisting with loan presentations.
- Handles reporting on loans such as past dues, documentation, and collateral exceptions, financial performance updates, portfolio profitability, risk grades, etc.
- Keeps informed of financial and market trends in the portfolio and analyzes those trends for the effect they will have on the portfolio.
- Expands and builds strong relationships with a high degree of member satisfaction.
- Serves as a daily escalation resource to ensure member expectations are met or exceeded.
- Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
- Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
- Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
- Participates in the development of financial models and other analytical tools to assist members in evaluating capital structure.
- Develops regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to monitor performance and inform future decisions.
- Maintains current insight on financing trends in target markets and communicates same to team members.
- Coordinates the preparation of lending proposals and pitches to current and prospective members with efforts to maximize penetration and returns.
- Negotiates transactions with members and provides deal structuring expertise.
- Partners with internal stakeholders for accurate, detailed client information.
- Minimizes risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance; significant direct experience or certifications may be considered in lieu of college degree.
- 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management.
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency in Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and acts as a trusted advisor.
- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Provides specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaboration and team skills.
- Data-driven, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
