Gourmet to Go Department Head

Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef/Assistant Gourmet to Go Manager to lead our Clinton location's Gourmet to Go department. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for directing and supervising all functions and activities of the department, ensuring exceptional customer service, sales, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Department Leadership: Direct and supervise all functions and activities of the Gourmet to Go department, including production, sales, merchandising, and distribution of products.
- Sales and Profitability: Develop and implement plans to maximize sales, gross profits, and overall results in the department.
- Team Management: Interview, hire, train, and develop associates, ensuring they meet company policies, state, local, federal, OSHA, and EEOC guidelines.
- Product Knowledge: Be thoroughly familiar with and able to work with all products carried in the department, including knowledge of differences in price, taste, preparation, and use.
- Food Preparation and Presentation: Cut, prepare, cook, package, and label all gourmet to go products according to company recipes and guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Stock and merchandise all products in the department, following the FIFO method, and ensure proper inventory control to ensure freshness and product quality.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain good communication within the department, in the store, and throughout the organization, and work with suppliers to arrange purchase and delivery of necessary products and supplies.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with all Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace safety and food service sanitation programs and standards.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a clean, organized, attractive, and friendly department.
- Previous Management Experience: Required.
- Reliable Transportation: Must have.
- Excellent Communication: Required.
- Food Service Management Certification: Required.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.: Required.
- 1 or More Years Related Experience: Required.
- Culinary Degree or Combination of Work Experience and Education: Preferred.
- Ability to Compose and Write Reports: Required.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hour periods, regularly bend, lift, and/or move 30 pounds, and be available on weekends.
