Department Head

SSOE Group is seeking a highly skilled Department Manager to lead and oversee our Food & Consumer Products (Process Controls) Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing staff members, developing and implementing departmental standards, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and develop a team of professionals to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement departmental standards, initiatives, and recordkeeping systems.
- Monitor and achieve annually budgeted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Participate in business development activities and assist project managers in preparing proposals and making presentations.
- Review and approve project change orders developed by staff.
- Prepare and monitor project work schedules and projected workload forecasts for department members.
- Provide access to tools, software, resources, and reference materials as required for the team to perform the work.
- Document the strengths and weaknesses of department personnel to identify professional development needs.
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited program within the technical discipline.
- A minimum of ten to twelve years of practical working experience.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Prior experience working in the consulting engineering sector is preferred.
- Prior experience working in the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical sectors is preferred.
SSOE Group offers a competitive salary range of $125,000-$155,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and certifications. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K, PTO, and paid holidays.
