About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Technician to join our team at the U.S. Navy. As an Information Systems Technician, you will play a critical role in establishing, monitoring, and maintaining radio frequency communication systems, operating and maintaining global satellite telecommunications systems, and transmitting, receiving, and storing all incoming and outgoing messages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and Maintain Radio Frequency Communication Systems: Ensure the integrity and security of radio frequency communication systems, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Operate and Maintain Global Satellite Telecommunications Systems: Manage and maintain global satellite telecommunications systems, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Transmit, Receive, and Store Messages: Transmit, receive, and store all incoming and outgoing messages, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Manage and Coordinate Information Systems Security: Ensure the security and integrity of information systems, including the implementation of security protocols and procedures.
  • Design, Install, and Operate Wide-Area-Networks, Computer Systems, and Associated Devices: Design, install, and operate wide-area-networks, computer systems, and associated devices, ensuring efficient and secure communication.
  • Perform Network System Administration, Maintenance, and Training: Perform network system administration, maintenance, and training, ensuring the smooth operation of information systems.
  • Install Applications, Troubleshoot User Problems, and Provide Training and Assistance: Install applications, troubleshoot user problems, and provide training and assistance with the use of computer hardware and software.
  • Write Programs to Collect and Distribute Data: Write programs to collect and distribute data for various applications, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Ensure the Proper Security and Handling of Communications Materials, Systems, and Equipment: Ensure the proper security and handling of communications materials, systems, and equipment, including the implementation of security protocols and procedures.
  • Perform Diagnostics and Data Recovery Operations and Maintain Logs: Perform diagnostics and data recovery operations, and maintain logs, ensuring the integrity and security of information systems.
Requirements
  • Green Card Holder or U.S. Citizen: Must be a green card holder or U.S. citizen.
  • Basic English Required: Basic English is required.
  • High School or GED Diploma: High school or GED diploma is required. Higher salaries are available for college graduates.
