Primary Objective:

Deliver exceptional customer service within the Center Store (Grocery) Department. Responsible for upholding standards in line with the standard practice manual, enhancing sales through outstanding customer interactions, and minimizing losses through effective practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer engagement with a focus on fast, friendly, and accurate service to ensure a positive shopping experience
  • Be courteous and supportive to fellow associates
  • Regularly clean shelves and shelf tag moldings with a damp cloth while restocking
  • Maintain proper shelf allocations by stocking from tag to tag
  • Ensure only saleable products are placed on the shelves
  • Adhere to policies and guidelines for ordering, receiving, preparing, conditioning, and displaying merchandise
  • Utilize company tools such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO) effectively
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and compliance with company guidelines, policies, and standard practices
  • Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety protocols diligently
  • Identify and rectify any unsafe conditions that could lead to accidents for associates or customers
  • Report all incidents involving associates and customers in accordance with established procedures
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations
  • Wear the designated uniform, including a name badge, while on duty, maintaining a neat and professional appearance
  • Complete all required Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses successfully
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn various tasks and technical job requirements
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to resolve issues
  • Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions
  • Must be capable of fulfilling the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to operate computers and other communication systems necessary for job functions
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Push or pull up to 75 lbs. on occasion
  • Stand for the entire shift, with frequent short walks
  • Handle various substances related to cleaning and packaging materials
  • Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally above shoulder or below waist level
  • Meet established productivity standards for the role
  • Tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time
