LPN - Bright Beginnings Preschool - Jefferson County

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Bright Beginnings Preschool in Jefferson County. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our children, their families, and our staff.
Responsibilities- Provide on-site medical care to children, including administering medications, treating minor injuries, and performing medical procedures as needed.
- Collect and review incident and minor injury records, making recommendations for retention or exclusion as necessary.
- Communicate children's health status with staff and families, facilitating the resupplying of first aid kits and maintaining AED equipment.
- Administer and record medication administration in accordance with agency procedures and OCFS healthcare plan.
- Collect cumulative health data to accommodate individual needs of students, participating in the development and implementation of individual child health care plans.
- Participate in Bright Beginnings individualized education plan meetings, educating parents on the importance of current immunization protection.
- Assist in the procurement of health and safety related materials and equipment, modeling and training staff in health procedures as needed.
- Conduct training at staff development events, including CPR/AED on site, and maintain confidentiality of family and child records.
- Monitor the facility for health issues, assisting to develop and revise program policies and procedures as it relates to health and safety.
- Prepare statistical reports for the Department of Education and Department of Human Services as requested.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) professional license issued through the New York State Education Department, currently registered and in good standing.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in pediatric care.
- Valid New York State Driver's License.
This job operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to stand, walk, lift, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Work may require lifting, pushing, or pulling in excess of 30 pounds.
