Job Title: Senior Systems Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Development Engineer to join our team at Seakeeper Inc. As a key member of our Gyro Product Engineering Department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing our cutting-edge gyro stabilizers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary development teams to design new and improve existing products with challenging expectations in a timely manner
  • Create, manage, and execute product validation plans, including life, FMEA, field, and vibration/sound testing
  • Provide technical leadership to help troubleshoot and diagnose product design issues before product launch
  • Develop innovative test procedures and help automate long-term testing to accelerate project timelines
  • Design, build, and/or spec test apparatus and infrastructure
  • Develop systems expertise on Seakeeper's current and future products
  • Effectively communicate test results, observations, and conclusions in a clear and intuitive way
  • Document and catalog collected data for future use
  • Generate 2D system schematics for development specifications and engineering drawings
  • Collaborate with a growing, multi-disciplined engineering team to continue innovating Seakeeper's core technologies
  • Mentor other Systems Engineers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent
  • 6+ years of product validation experience
  • Data analysis skills using programs such as Python, MATLAB, and/or DIAdem
  • Mechanical aptitude, ability to wire electrical systems, and being hands-on with the product
  • Capable of thinking systematically and documenting processes, procedures, and test results
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment, but also effectively working independently
  • Eagerness to learn and gain experience in a wide array of disciplines and projects
  • Motivated to improve both yourself and those around you
  • Passion to improve existing products and bring new products into production
  • Experience running experiments or validating products in a lab environment
  • FMEA participation
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic or electrical circuits
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of product validation experience
  • Experience leading FMEA
  • Experience generating 2D Electrical or Hydraulic Schematics
  • Simulink Experience
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC regulations and/or testing experience
  • Experience in the marine industry
