Job Title: Systems Development Engineer

Seakeeper Inc is seeking a highly skilled Systems Development Engineer to join our team in Leesport, PA. As a key member of our Gyro Product Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing our innovative gyro stabilizers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of new and improved products, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to design and test our systems.
  • Design and execute product validation plans, including life, FMEA, field testing, and vibration/sound testing.
  • Provide design input and troubleshoot product design issues prior to launch.
  • Develop innovative test procedures and automate long-term testing to accelerate project timelines.
  • Design, build, and/or specify test apparatus and infrastructure.
  • Develop systems expertise on Seakeeper's current and future products.
  • Effectively communicate test results, observations, and conclusions in a clear and intuitive way.
  • Document and catalog collected data for future use.
  • Generate 2D system schematics for development specifications and engineering drawings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of product validation experience.
  • Data analysis skills using programs such as Python, MATLAB, and/or DIAdem.
  • Comfortable wiring and being hands-on with the product.
  • Mechanical aptitude and handy.
  • Capable of thinking systematically and documenting processes, procedures, and test results.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment, but also effective working independently.
  • Eagerness to learn and gain experience in a wide array of disciplines and projects.
  • Motivated to improve both yourself and those around you.
  • Passion to improve existing products and bring new products into production.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience performing FMEA.
  • Experience generating 2D Electrical or Hydraulic Schematics.
  • Simulink Experience.
  • Hydraulic or Electromechanical system experience.
  • Experience in the marine industry.
