Position Summary


The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity of the hotel by reconciling all revenue and expense transactions that occur throughout the day. This position involves the timely review, organization, and compilation of management reports while guaranteeing the accuracy of guest billing.

Additionally, the Night Auditor is responsible for effectively communicating any concerns or related issues to all levels of management and fulfilling guest service agent duties as necessary, including check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and managing reservations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, equipment, and lobby.
  • Input and modify reservation information in the computer system.
  • Post charges to guest accounts accurately.
  • Investigate and analyze discrepancies in financial balances, making adjustments or corrections as required.
  • Complete various computer-generated audit reports.
  • Provide courteous and sincere hospitality at all times, embodying the principles of excellent customer service.
  • Address and respond to customer complaints and needs calmly, seeking assistance from management when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with supervisors and hotel staff.
  • Adhere to training guidelines, exercising good judgment and common sense.
  • Close, balance, and make necessary corrections to guest accounts.
  • Balance shift work and cash drawers efficiently.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and nametag.


  • Deliver gracious hospitality to all customers.
  • Foster a productive and positive atmosphere, building good relationships with all associates and departments.
  • Consistently represent the hotel and brand in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Notify management of any actions or situations that may pose a threat to employees, customers, or guests.
  • Observe safety and security protocols, using equipment and materials appropriately.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all business matters, both on and off duty.

Qualifications

Experience, Education, & Training
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous auditing experience is preferred, along with guest service experience. Proficiency in computer skills is essential.
