Position Overview:

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel. This position is integral to enhancing guest satisfaction and ensuring a positive work environment for associates. The DGM is actively involved in managing hourly staff, including their scheduling, training, and daily activities, while fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplifies a strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Acquires comprehensive knowledge of all managerial functions and hotel operations.
  • Ensures timely completion of training for all associates, promoting adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
  • Drives compliance with operational standards and safety guidelines at the property level.
  • Facilitates initiatives aimed at increasing revenue and enhancing guest and associate satisfaction.
  • Acts as the primary management contact for guest service concerns, resolving issues promptly and escalating when necessary.
  • Embodies professionalism and embraces the company's service culture, treating all guests and associates with respect.
  • Engages with guests to identify opportunities for future travel needs and quality lead generation.
  • Assists in optimizing revenue and achieving budgeted financial goals.

Additional Duties:
  • Supports the General Manager in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new associates.
  • Directly supervises staff to cultivate a positive work atmosphere through teamwork and recognition.
  • Participates in daily team meetings, providing guidance and support for continuous improvement.
  • Aids in budget management, including labor monitoring and expense control.
  • Ensures associates have the necessary resources to perform their roles effectively.
  • Serves as the acting manager in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Conducts inspections of guest accommodations.
  • Provides support in various hotel operations as needed to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Manages the purchasing process, ensuring timely ordering and receipt of products.
  • Assists in monitoring financial compliance and guest account management.
  • Engages in hotel sales activities as required.
  • Monitors social media platforms for timely and appropriate engagement.
  • Prioritizes cleanliness and satisfaction for both guests and associates.
