Position Overview

Role Summary:

We are in search of a skilled and proactive Business Manager to join our Producing Department within the Arts Division. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in cultural management and exhibit exceptional leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Develop and maintain contract templates, ensuring compliance with various union agreements. Serve as the primary contact for legal counsel and insurance representatives.
  • Budget Coordination: Collaborate with the Executive Vice President's office to create and manage departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Scheduling Oversight: Maintain the Arts Program Calendar and communicate scheduling needs effectively across departments.
  • Financial Liaison: Act as the main point of contact between the Producing Department and Finance, overseeing invoice processing and budget tracking.
  • Administrative Duties: Conduct research on best practices, develop RFPs for vendor projects, and provide clerical support as necessary.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise project-based staff and assist in the recruitment and training of part-time personnel.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in performing arts administration or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in contract negotiation and management, particularly with unions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
  • Proficiency in technology and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.

This position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary. A commitment to maintaining a vibrant and inclusive arts community is essential.
