Job Summary: MedStar Health is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator to provide exceptional customer service to patients in Hyattsville, MD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for greeting patients, checking in/out processes, gathering demographic information, insurance verifications, and scheduling appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the initial contact person at the medical practice or hospital department, greeting patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Manage the intake of patients into the practice, screen for emergent conditions, register, verify, and explain patient responsibility for payment.
  • Perform check-in and check-out procedures by inputting patient charges and verifying demographic and insurance information.
  • Coordinate efficient patient flow through the practice or hospital department assigned.
  • Support organization initiatives related to new technology, clinical programs, and improving the patient experience.

Requirements:

  • 6 months to 1 year of providing high-quality customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Working knowledge of IDX/GE Centricity business preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CPR Certification.

Hiring Range: $18.33 - $29.96
