Job Summary

A busy OBGYN practice in Prince Georges County, Maryland, is seeking a Medical Assistant / Patient Care Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, friendly, and possess excellent customer service skills.

The Medical Assistant / Patient Care Technician will act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, assisting with a wide range of duties including patient care, intake, and interaction with patients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acknowledge the role of the physician in patient care.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the confidentiality of patient information.
  • Exhibit an awareness of system-wide information management responsibilities.
  • Be aware of ethical and legal issues in providing patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Perform a variety of medical office tasks such as updating patient information in EHR systems, uploading documents, and faxing documents.
  • Keep inventory items organized, inform management when supplies need to be ordered, unpack supplies the day they arrive, and ensure supplies are well stocked.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or other higher-level staff.


Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification, first aid and CPR certification, bilingual Spanish speaking, basic computer skills, ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to lift heavy objects, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, respectful, and ethical.
