Key Responsibilities:
- Formulates and executes underwriting strategies, governs risk appetite, and enhances profitability for designated accounts in accordance with the M&A underwriting framework.
- Recognizes inefficiencies and suggests practical solutions to ensure compliance with taxation obligations, based on pre-deal and post-deal tax frameworks to achieve favorable transaction outcomes.
- Imparts knowledge on warranties & indemnity, tax & contingency insurance, guides on complex risk evaluations, and empowers team members to make well-informed underwriting choices.
- Examines complex contracts, insurance policies, and binder agreements, evaluates potential liabilities, and uncovers hidden risks to inform underwriting judgments.
- Builds strategic partnerships to drive new business opportunities, secures profitable transactions, and delivers tailored client solutions based on industry sector, deal structure, jurisdiction, and indemnification responsibilities.
- Customizes coverage terms and conditions to fulfill specific client requirements while balancing risk factors and profitability.
- Collaborates with internal teams to address intricate underwriting challenges and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitors developments in transactional liability legislation and regulations to ensure adherence and adapt underwriting practices as necessary.
- Stays informed on industry trends, conducts research on emerging sectors, and devises innovative coverage solutions to broaden the portfolio.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Financial or M&A Underwriting with a Bachelor's degree, or at least 3 years of experience with a Master's degree.
- Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may also be considered.
- Required: Minimum state P&C and/or surplus line licenses.
- Preferred: Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA), Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU).

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $98,000 to $128,782 annually. The compensation structure considers various factors, including experience, skills, certifications, and market conditions. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
