Position Overview

The Financial Compliance Auditor will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role is pivotal in evaluating the effectiveness and reliability of the financial control systems at Lawndale Christian Health Center. Upon identifying any shortcomings, the auditor will communicate these findings to relevant internal parties along with actionable recommendations for enhancement. The responsibility for the audited processes lies with the respective departments and personnel involved, including any subsequent improvement initiatives. The auditor is expected to collaborate with departmental staff while maintaining objectivity throughout the review process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of the clinic's operational processes.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of existing financial risk management strategies.
  • Safeguard the organization against fraud and misappropriation of assets.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide suggestions for enhancing internal controls and financial governance.
  • Oversee the execution of relevant process enhancements, including systems, procedures, and documentation.
Areas of Focus

Pharmacy
  • Conduct self-audits and analyses for the 340b Program.
  • Review R-1 client prescriber checks and consult note recovery.
  • Perform revenue reconciliation.
Purchasing
  • Monitor requisition approvals, order placements, receiving, and invoice payments.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including periodic reviews of inventory management.
  • Analyze financial data to identify unusual expenditures and cost-saving opportunities.
Finance
  • Audit cash drawers and safes across all cash handling points.
  • Review credit card transaction reconciliations.
  • Conduct periodic compliance assessments and procedure verifications.
  • Perform cyclical testing of grant invoicing for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review grants receivable to ensure proper revenue recognition and payment processing.
Patient Accounting
  • Execute registration insurance audits as per the established schedule.
  • Document audit outcomes and log identified errors.
  • Collaborate with site managers to highlight strengths and areas for improvement among registration representatives.
  • Provide individualized retraining for new representatives or when procedures are updated, in conjunction with clinical operations leadership.
  • Stay informed about billing procedures and requirements, acting as a liaison to ensure uniformity and currency in practices.

Required Knowledge and Experience
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in healthcare registration is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of practice management software is essential.
Experience in a multicultural environment is also necessary.
