Job Title: Business Office Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Office Manager to join our team at Optalis Healthcare. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily activities related to accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and accounts payable, including daily census and resident payor types.
  • Assist with completing and submitting Medicaid applications, if applicable.
  • Responsible for facility cash receipt and making daily deposits in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records for resident trust accounts.
  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice approvals and recording of invoices in accounting software.
  • Complete and accurate adherence to closing procedures monthly, including census reconciliation, cash reconciliation, and billing log reconciliation.
  • Direct involvement in accounts receivable collections process, including pursuit of delinquent accounts.
  • Participate in relevant in-service training sessions and attend facility meetings.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills, including multitasking and effective communication.
  • Ability to manage outcomes and effectively use technology, including Microsoft Outlook, Email, Word, Excel, and billing and accounting software.
  • Education or experience with accounting functions, including accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable collections, and bank reconciliations.
  • Relevant long-term care or health care experience preferred.
  • Freedom from use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Working Conditions:

The work environment is moderate, with occasional physical effort required to lift objects of 10 to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

Leadership and Process Improvement: The successful candidate will demonstrate willingness to take risks, generate new ideas for change, and apply process improvement principles and tools.

Interpersonal Skills: The Business Office Manager will demonstrate active listening techniques, gain support through effective relationships, and treat others with dignity and respect.

Continuing Education: The successful candidate will attend in-service and education programs, attend continuing education required for maintenance of professional certification or licensure, and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
