Role Overview

The Finance Analytics team at Tesla operates at the crossroads of financial analysis, business intelligence, data engineering, and data science, playing a pivotal role in transforming raw data into meaningful insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analyses on extensive and intricate data sets, delivering strategic insights, hypotheses, and conclusions to stakeholders across various levels.
  • Collaborate with business and engineering teams to enhance Tesla's data, reporting, and analytics platforms.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine data models, forecasting models, dashboards, and data pipelines.
  • Establish clean, reliable, and scalable data sets by working with data quality and application engineering teams to resolve data issues in upstream systems, while documenting data lineage, business logic, and KPI definitions.
  • Partner with business analysts to automate manual processes and provide training in tools and skills to foster self-sufficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Applied Statistics or a related field.
  • Proficient in SQL with experience in commercial and emerging BI databases, technologies, and languages.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and languages such as Python, R, and Tableau.
  • Advanced skills in Excel BI functionalities including Power Query (M) and PowerPivot (DAX).
  • Understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with enterprise systems and awareness of data design pattern distinctions between transactional ERP systems and analytical data warehouses.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks in an unstructured environment, with comfort in navigating ambiguity.
