Job SummaryA strong knowledge of connecting electrical fittings, soldering, running electrical wiring and performing all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles for the acceptance of emergency-related equipment and lighting is required.
Key Responsibilities- Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment.
- Basic knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems, able to interpret and follow basic installation instructions, wiring diagrams, and specifications to properly install 12-volt equipment.
- Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw and drill gun.
- Perform quality work checks to ensure that the product meets quality standards.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Must be able to follow directions.
- Must be able to comprehend basic math calculations and measurements.
- Must have basic knowledge of hand tools.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years relevant work experience.
- Must have a valid drivers license and able to operate all class C vehicles.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk over 95% of work time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Agility to bend to floor-level shelves and reach upper shelves (eight feet) with use of stool or ladder when necessary.
