Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the administration of Safety and Environmental programs at the Lenexa, KS Plant.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure environmental and safety compliance.
  • Assist with training coordination and delivery to ensure employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely.
  • Audit contractors to ensure safety compliance and job performance.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with plant management and employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a safety or environmental role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications.
Working Conditions

The Safety Specialist will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and will be required to stand, walk, and move around the plant as needed. The employee will also be required to work in outside weather conditions and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
