The successful candidates will work on a collaborative project examining technical, economic, environmental, social, and policy issues related to nuclear-powered hydrogen production and transport infrastructure.

Job Purpose:

The postdoctoral research associates will conduct thermodynamic process modeling and techno-economic analysis for nuclear-powered hydrogen production and pipeline transport infrastructure, as well as environmental and resource impact assessments. They will also work with the principal investigator and co-investigators to develop a workforce training program on large-scale hydrogen production and transport infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on nuclear-powered hydrogen production and transport infrastructure
  • Develop thermodynamic process models and techno-economic analyses
  • Assess environmental and resource impacts
  • Develop training materials for the workforce program
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in chemical and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, or other energy-related disciplines
  • Expertise on hydrogen production, advanced nuclear technology, and gas transport infrastructure
  • Experience with ASPEN Plus, techno-economic analysis, and life cycle analysis
Working Conditions:

This position requires the successful candidate to be available to work on campus.
