Job Title: Police Records Assistant Lead

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Police Records Assistant Lead to join our team at the City of Rialto, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing the work of police records office support staff, as well as performing a variety of administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, oversee, review, and perform the clerical support work for the Police Records division.
  • Research, compile, and prepare a wide variety of documents, including reports, procedures manuals, and training bulletins.
  • Perform the more complex or difficult police records activities on a regular and emergency relief basis.
  • Assist in the training of new employees.
  • Receive, process, and file a variety of documents, including accident, crime, and arrest reports.
  • Disseminate records information to department staff, outside law enforcement agencies, and the public.
  • Respond to public and employee inquiries in a courteous manner.
  • Conduct specialized research and compile various statistics as needed.
  • Perform criminal background checks and secure warrant information from other agencies.

Requirements:

  • Three years of increasingly responsible police records experience, including at least one year of lead experience.
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
