We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding to join our team at the NYS Department of Civil Service. Key Responsibilities- Provide front desk operations and greet patients, advising staff of their arrival and answering phones.
- Confirm appointments, schedule tests according to time slots, staffing, and location, and prepare files for patients.
- Obtain patient authorizations, ensure all necessary paperwork is complete, and prepare weekly schedules and facilitate changes in schedule.
- Handle all correspondence related to testing and test results, maintain testing databases, and distribute final reports appropriately.
- Use CAIS/MEDIC to enter appropriate billing codes, rectify discrepancies, and obtain necessary patient information for testing.
- Perform general office duties such as responding to external/internal MD requests for information, ordering clerical supplies, distributing mail, and using EPIC to scan documents and maintain patient databases.
- Must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher.
- One year of clerical experience where the majority of work time is spent performing keyboarding, data entry, chart compilation, or arrangement or various tasks involving typing into computerized systems.
- Candidates will be required to pass a keyboarding test that demonstrates the ability to enter text at a rate of at least 30 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy.
This is a full-time position available in our Clinical Neurophysiology department. The schedule is based on a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM. Patient confidentiality is a must, and strong organizational and computer skills are preferred.
