Position Summary:

The Home Medical Equipment Delivery Specialist plays a crucial role in interacting with patients, their families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to deliver essential medical products and services. This position involves the delivery, resupply, and retrieval of home medical equipment (HME).

Key Responsibilities:

I. Core Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain excellence in work processes and outcomes, adhering to MedCare policies and regulatory standards.
  2. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by being helpful and courteous to patients, prioritizing their well-being.
  3. Exhibit regular, punctual attendance and a consistent presence on-site.
  4. Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment, building strong relationships with team members.
  5. Plan and manage time effectively, applying LEAN principles in daily tasks.
  6. Be open to feedback and committed to continuous learning, attending all required training sessions.

II. Specialized Responsibilities:

  1. Delivery and Returns: Deliver supplemental oxygen products and medical supplies to clients, while also managing the pickup of used or unneeded equipment.
  2. Driving: Adhere to safe driving practices and collaborate with dispatch to optimize delivery routes.
  3. Infection Control: Implement proper hygiene protocols when interacting with customers and handling equipment.
  4. Customer Interaction: Complete necessary documentation for deliveries and returns, and communicate changes in patient status to the company.
  5. Emergency Preparedness: Understand and follow the company's emergency response procedures.
  6. Oxygen Delivery: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and address customer needs regarding oxygen delivery.
  7. Team Leadership: Inspire and motivate team members, facilitating effective meetings and development opportunities.
  8. Quality Assurance: Verify equipment details during deliveries and maintain accurate documentation.
  9. Inventory Management: Keep track of stock levels and organize equipment effectively.
  10. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of equipment, following established protocols.
  11. Customer Service: Provide compassionate support to customers, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
  12. Consignment Management: Deliver consignment products and maintain accurate inventory records.

III. Additional Duties:

  1. Adhere to company policies and maintain confidentiality regarding patient information.
  2. Assist colleagues during peak workloads and engage in cross-training opportunities.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Licensure: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Experience: Background in customer service or related fields preferred.

Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities are essential, along with a commitment to teamwork and problem-solving.

Preferred experience in healthcare delivery or patient care is advantageous.
