Clinical Unit Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Unit Supervisor to join our team at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading our team of Registered Nurses in the Medical Surgical and Telemetry units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and direct the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible treatment and care.
  • Lead and manage a team of Registered Nurses, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent patient care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that our patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that our patients receive safe and effective care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (individuals hired without a BSN will be required to complete a degree program within 5 years of their hire date)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Medical / Surgical /Telemetry nursing with regard to regulatory guidelines and standard of practice; minimum one (1) year of Clinical Unit Supervisor experience.
  • Current California Nursing license
  • Certification in Medical / Surgical Nursing preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record preferred
