We are currently seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to enhance our talented team in Baltimore, MD. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the design and execution of fire protection systems across various building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in fire protection engineering, a thorough understanding of industry regulations, and a commitment to delivering safe and effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and direct the design and assessment of fire protection systems for projects of diverse complexity, including both new developments and renovations.
- Create fire protection engineering concepts, plans, and specifications, ensuring adherence to local and national regulations.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to seamlessly incorporate fire protection strategies into project designs.
- Conduct fire hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and performance-based design analyses.
- Review and validate fire protection system shop drawings and submissions.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior fire protection engineering personnel.
- Engage in site evaluations, inspections, and commissioning activities to confirm the proper installation and operation of fire protection systems.
- Act as a subject matter expert on fire protection issues, including code interpretations and compliance matters.
- Communicate with clients, regulatory bodies, and project teams to address fire protection-related inquiries and requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection Engineering.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in fire protection engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of fire codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, etc.).
- Proficiency in fire modeling and analysis software.
- Experience with hydraulic calculations and fire suppression system design.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- US citizenship is required.
