Position Overview
This role is situated within the Indian Health Service, focusing on the provision of nursing care management services. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing patient care at the designated Service Unit, particularly within the Purchased Referred Care (PRC) program.

Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct comprehensive health assessments and screenings during patient registration and maintain updated patient records.
2. Act as the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Coordinator, serving as the primary liaison with the Nashville Area GPRA Coordinator.
3. Plan and coordinate care for scheduled patients, effectively communicating their needs and treatment recommendations to the healthcare team.
4. Collaborate with various departments, agencies, and community resources to optimize resource utilization.
5. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

Employment Conditions
Selected candidates may be subject to a probationary period. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, and Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. This position is designated under Public Law, necessitating interaction with Indian children. Candidates must have no prior convictions for specific crimes.

Immunization Requirements
Measles and Rubella immunizations are required for selectees born after 1957, and seasonal influenza vaccinations are mandatory for all personnel working in Indian Health Service facilities. COVID-19 vaccination is also required prior to commencing duties.

Background Check
Selected individuals must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. Continued employment is contingent upon the successful completion of this investigation.

Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education relevant to the duties of the position. Experience may include both paid and volunteer work, and all qualifying experience will be credited.

Basic Requirements
Candidates must possess a graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited nursing program. Additionally, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and hold an active, unrestricted nursing license from a U.S. state or territory.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have either a master's degree in professional nursing or at least one year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level, along with a relevant nursing degree. Experience should include independent planning and provision of nursing care, case management, and oversight of care compliance.

Additional Information
This position is part of a Bargaining Unit and may offer student loan repayment programs for qualifying health disciplines. Federal employees earn annual leave based on years of service.
