Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient response to therapy and notify providers as necessary.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) certification issued by the Texas Medical Board.
  • CRT certification issued by the NBRC.
  • Vocational School Graduate or Associate Degree from an accredited respiratory program.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working with ICU/ER patients; no new grads.
  • This position is for the day shift.
