About the Role

HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist CRT PRN to join our team. As a CRT, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification issued by the Texas Medical Board.
  • CRT certification issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Vocational school graduate or associate degree from an accredited respiratory program.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with ICU/ER patients; no new graduates.
