Job Summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in Houston, Texas. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will work closely with licensed Occupational Therapists to provide high-quality care to patients in acute rehabilitation settings.

Responsibilities
  • Implement occupational therapy treatment programs as described by Occupational Therapists' written plans of care.
  • Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists, modifying treatment only as allowed by the plan of care.
  • Communicate effectively with supervising Occupational Therapists, patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Manage time effectively and document patient progress and treatment plans accurately.
  • Participate in program development and may serve as a clinical resource to colleagues and the community.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant or Occupational Therapist program.
  • Current license to practice Occupational Therapy by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners or eligibility.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, and perform fine hand dexterity tasks.
