Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Supervisor to join our team at Spectrum. As a key member of our construction department, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of construction projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate construction efforts, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage and motivate construction teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Coordinate with engineers and developers to design and implement construction plans, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor and control construction costs, ensuring adherence to budget and financial targets.
  • Perform site inspections to ensure quality control and safety standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in OSP construction work in the Telecom field.
  • CDL license and experience managing in a CDL environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and industry-specific software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project supervision experience in HFC/FTTH construction.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience, with a proven track record of success.
Working Conditions:

This role will require working in an office and field environment, with frequent travel to construction sites. You will be exposed to dust, dirt, noise, insects, rodents, pets, and cleaning solutions. You will also work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night. You will be required to work near power lines and electricity, and at various heights above ground on telephone/power poles.

This role requires a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record within Company required standards. You will be required to work with or near Aerial & UG machinery & vehicles, and work and travel in inclement weather.

This role requires a high level of physical fitness, with the ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment. You will be required to safely use weight-bearing equipment, such as gaffs, safety harness, and ladders, within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment.

This role requires the ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices, and to carry, climb, and operate extension ladders, up to 32 ft. high and 90 pounds.

This role requires the ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires, and to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting.

This role requires the ability to operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with the position, such as signal level meters, ohm meters, etc.

This role requires the ability to perform job from high places, such as poles and roofs, and to work while standing for % of the time.

This role requires the ability to work with small components and wires to make cable connections, and to use handheld communication devices and applications.

This role requires the ability to dig in all types of soil, and to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, with knowledge of CDL requirements.

This role requires the ability to operate machinery used for underground/overhead cable installation, and to read general to complex system layouts from blueprints.

This role requires knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics, and of National Electric Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and OSHA.

This role requires knowledge of HFC/FTTH construction and Architecture, and of industry-specific local, state, and federal regulations.

This role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent work experience, Associates degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent experience, and industry and vendor-specific certifications and training.
