Internship Summary

We are on the lookout for enthusiastic candidates who have a keen interest in internet trends, social media dynamics, and contemporary culture to join our Trending internship program. The Trending team investigates how various discussions and phenomena emerge online, from viral challenges to significant social issues. As a Trending intern, your primary responsibility will be to produce timely blog posts, offering you invaluable experience in the fast-paced realm of digital journalism. In addition to quick reporting, interns will engage in a comprehensive reporting project throughout the internship, allowing for deeper exploration of their assigned topics. Ideal candidates will possess strong writing and reporting abilities, a passion for internet culture, and a knack for identifying unique stories that are yet to be covered.


Key Responsibilities
  • Compose and report on fast-paced daily blog entries
  • Collaborate with editors to propose internet culture stories that have not been featured elsewhere
  • Research, report, and develop a long-form story package during the internship
  • Maintain high journalistic standards for accuracy, fairness, and thorough fact-checking
Qualifications
  • At least two semesters of college or high-school-level newsroom experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently
  • Experience in networking and conducting interviews
  • Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing in a dynamic environment
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team setting
  • Familiarity with the Fragment Media Group brand, internet culture, online communities, and current trends
  • Experience in a virtual team environment is advantageous
