Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Traffic Signal Maintenance Technician to join our team and contribute to this mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, replace, program, repair, and troubleshoot ITS equipment, including CCTV cameras, video/radar detection, loop detectors, dynamic message signs, connected vehicle RSUs, poles, cabinets, cabling, and communication equipment.
  • Install, maintain, replace, program, repair, and troubleshoot street lighting and traffic signals, including controllers, cabinets, detection, wiring, signal heads, poles, and related communication equipment.
  • Implement traffic control devices, such as signs and cones, as needed.
  • Operate a bucket truck for traffic signal and ITS maintenance.
  • Train new technicians and perform all functions of Maintenance and ITS Technician roles.
  • Be available for on-call responses to customer call-outs, including nights and weekends.
  • Represent Econolite Group, Inc. professionally as a proactive customer service and quality ambassador.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • FDOT Temporary Traffic Control Certification and Electrician License preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience with installing, maintaining, and repairing traffic signals, ITS devices, and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of state and local traffic control guidelines and pre-emption systems.
  • Fiber optic cable and networking equipment knowledge; fiber training preferred.
  • Proficient in interpreting schematics, site plans, and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to wire and connect signalized intersection cables.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations on electronics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective working relationships.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean DMV record; commercial license preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
