About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Staff Coordinator to join our team at Amerita. In this role, you will be responsible for processing referrals received from referral sources, ensuring all required documentation is received in a timely manner, and entering patient demographic, insurance, and authorization information into our computer system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process referrals from referral sources and ensure all required documentation is received
  • Enter patient demographic, insurance, and authorization information into our computer system
  • Obtain authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers and document in the computer system
  • Ensure insurance verification is completed and authorization is in place or requested prior to giving the referral to a pharmacist
  • Communicate with other departments regarding the status of referrals and any authorization requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or some college preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience collecting referral information in the healthcare market
  • Experience working with all payer types, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance companies
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
