Job Overview

Top Docs, Inc is looking to engage a Healthcare Administrative Coordinator to support medical professionals in conducting Compensation & Pension Evaluations for our esteemed military Veterans across various locations.

  • Contract Duration: One Year with potential for extension
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, Full Time/40 hours per week, 8am to 4pm unless specified otherwise
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate
  • Gender Requirement: The position requires a representative of each gender to accompany Veterans during sensitive examinations.

Role Responsibilities

The selected candidate will assist medical professionals in performing non-treatment evaluations for Veterans, while fulfilling both administrative and medical assistant duties. Responsibilities will encompass ancillary services such as pulmonary function tests (PFT), ankle brachial index (ABI), and electrocardiograms (EKG). Administrative tasks include welcoming Veterans, managing office operations, ensuring thorough exam documentation, handling phone inquiries, maintaining supply inventory, and other assigned responsibilities.

Medical Assistant Duties

  • Conduct necessary laboratory tests
  • Coordinate with LabCorp or Quest for laboratory analysis
  • Administer EKGs, ABIs, and PFTs
  • Participate in training sessions for staff conducting PFTs
  • Utilize available EKG manuals to ensure familiarity with equipment
  • Accompany practitioners during examinations as a chaperone

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Welcome Veterans and guide them to the examination area
  • Notify clients of any missed appointments
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility
  • Collect ancillary results from practitioners
  • Monitor completed and pending evaluations to ensure timely submission via the Provider Portal

Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a phlebotomy certification from an accredited training program, as required by state regulations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, along with exceptional communication and customer service skills, are essential.
  • Applicants should exhibit a friendly, professional demeanor, as they will be the first point of contact for Veterans.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating good interpersonal skills and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Basic computer proficiency is required, and the role may involve prolonged periods of sitting, bending, twisting, and occasionally lifting over 10 pounds.
