POSITION SUMMARY:
GeorgiaGov is in search of a Chief Academic Officer who will oversee and assess institutional services, particularly those related to Academic Affairs. This role involves leading a diverse team dedicated to fulfilling the College's objectives and mission in the realm of education.
Key Responsibilities Include:
· Strategically plans and organizes the division's activities to align with the College's objectives.
· Provides counsel to the President on all issues pertaining to Academic Affairs.
· Reviews and offers recommendations regarding faculty and staff appointments, salary adjustments, promotions, or terminations within Academic Affairs.
· Manages the financial and budgetary operations of the division.
· Encourages collaboration with other divisions, departments, programs, and essential campus units to enhance educational quality both inside and outside the classroom.
· Develops a strategy to attract and retain highly qualified faculty, staff, and students, ensuring the procurement of modern facilities, equipment, and technology.
· Stays informed about local and regional workforce trends and requirements.
· Monitors program enrollment, recommends the initiation or cessation of academic programs, and approves new curricula and modifications.
· Develops and assesses division personnel and processes to ensure ongoing improvement and compliance.
· Evaluates the quality of academic programs to meet state standards and industry demands by utilizing metrics such as student learning outcomes, placement and graduation rates, and licensure results.
· Provides leadership for programmatic and institutional accreditation processes.
· Engages in strategic planning and college-wide initiatives.
· Develops and executes a plan to ensure adequate staffing, space, and resources to achieve desired outcomes.
· Promotes, develops, and maintains articulation agreements.
· Oversees and assesses library services and facilities to continually enhance quality.
· Cultivates a high-performance environment characterized by effective leadership and a strong team-oriented approach within the division.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· A Master's degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
· An earned doctorate in higher education or a related field from an accredited institution.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary commensurate with qualifications. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, retirement options, and a flexible benefits package.
