Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Food Bank Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our food bank, including program development, volunteer management, and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement assessment tools to determine the nutritional needs of the local community, including inventory management and geographic and demographic analysis.
  • Ensure programs are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations, and collaborate with the Food Bank Director to ensure programs align with contract requirements.
  • Provide training and support to pantry partners and distribution site volunteers, and conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with food safety and handling procedures.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with community organizations, service programs, and volunteers to develop and implement programs that meet the identified needs of the community.
  • Conduct informal surveys of community members to gather feedback and improve services.
  • Direct oversight of food bank reporting systems and verify that staff and volunteers are trained and following procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between customers in need of services and those providing guidance, and provide a safe and welcoming space for community participants.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in food banking or a related field.
  • Program supervision, planning, and implementation experience.
  • Experience with fund development, including grant writing, mail campaigns, and events.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, and to provide reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with event planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Tuolumne County community service programs and experience with public speaking.
