Job Summary

Sharp Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor 3rd Shift to oversee the activities of production workers and ensure the efficient operation of our production department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating activities, interpreting company policies, and enforcing safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study production orders to determine product requirements and packaging needs.
  • Interpret specifications and job orders to workers, and assign duties.
  • Observe packaging operations and establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities

As a Production Supervisor 3rd Shift, you will be responsible for directly supervising 20 to 60 employees in the Production Department. Your responsibilities will include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, you must have a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You must also have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, and the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Language Skills

You must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. You must also have the ability to calculate figures and amounts, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

You must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. You must also be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

You must have familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with ERP systems, Lotus Notes, and Time and Attendance software.
