Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Trust and Estate Accounting Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on role that requires a deep understanding of trust and estate taxation, compliance, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and manage the accounting and financial reporting for trusts and estates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the tax team to ensure timely and accurate preparation of trust, estate, and gift tax returns (Forms 1041, 706, and 709).
- Prepare and review financial statements for trusts and estates, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders, including trustees and beneficiaries.
- Monitor and manage cash flow for trusts and estates, including distributions, funding, and investment oversight.
- Lead reconciliation efforts for trust accounts and ensure proper documentation for audits and reviews.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for trustees, beneficiaries, and other advisors, providing expert guidance on financial matters.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- A CPA license is required.
- 7+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on trust and estate accounting. Background in public accounting, private wealth management, or a family office is highly desirable.
- Proficient in accounting software and tax preparation tools (e.g., QuickBooks, ProSystem fx, or similar). In-depth knowledge of trust and estate tax laws, regulations, and financial management best practices.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a client-focused mindset.
