Job Title: Sensor and Signal Processing Scientist

EarthOptics is seeking a highly skilled Sensor and Signal Processing Scientist to join our Data Science team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing cutting-edge sensor technologies to revolutionize agriculture.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong background in signal processing, sensor data analysis, and electromagnetic theory. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Deriving requirements and performing studies on sensor data quality to ensure high-resolution soil mapping.
  • Collaborating with hardware R&D teams to evaluate new sensor technology and improve high-resolution mapping.
  • Developing workflows for evaluating sensor technology and driving cross-functional understanding of requirements and metrics for new sensor onboarding.
  • Championing and writing routines for signal processing/feature extraction in production settings.
  • Managing data integrations, novel data sets, and ETL pipelines.
About You:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in signal processing, sensor data analysis, and electromagnetic theory. Your qualifications should include:

  • 3+ years of experience in a signal processing role, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience using EMI data, GPR, or spectroscopy.
  • Advanced Python skills.
  • Educational background in physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with hardware and/or software teams and communicating requirements and requests to cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of electromagnetic theory.
