Role Summary
Support the General Manager in the effective and profitable management of the restaurant by embodying the company's mission, values, and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance customer engagement and revenue by fostering guest loyalty through exceptional service, operational excellence, and team development.
- Collaborate with the General Manager in the recruitment, training, and development of staff to ensure optimal restaurant performance.
- Uphold respect for all individuals by ensuring comprehensive training and development of all non-exempt staff in accordance with company standards.
- Assist in the oversight of the facility and equipment, implementing preventive maintenance and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Accountable for maintaining high scores on health and quality evaluations while adhering to financial guidelines.
- Work alongside the General Manager to promote employee understanding and adherence to all Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Analyze operational results and implement corrective actions as necessary during shifts.
- Drive guest loyalty through outstanding service and staff training, while striving to meet financial targets.
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to the development of strategic plans and objectives.
- Demonstrate integrity by ensuring secure handling of financial transactions during shifts.
- Exhibit a commitment to service excellence by maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Adapt to flexible scheduling and various shifts as required by restaurant operations.
- Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
- Completion of Management Training Program(s) is required post-hire.
- Certifications in food safety and alcohol service are advantageous.
- Directly oversee a team of approximately 20-50 non-exempt employees during shifts.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns in line with company policies.
To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Comprehensive understanding of both back of house (BOH) and front of house (FOH) operations and management practices within the restaurant sector.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively train, mentor, and evaluate team members.
- Capability to interpret financial data and respond to operational challenges swiftly.
- Proficiency in the use of all restaurant equipment.
- Clear and effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Exhibit sound judgment in daily decision-making aligned with the company's mission and values.
- Successful completion of all required training.
- A degree in Hospitality, Business, or Restaurant Management is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of managerial or supervisory experience is required.
